Haswell-Powered Tablet Notebook Hybrids, Everywhere!

Intel has cast quite an ambitious vision for the future where their Haswell processors are concerned – so much so that Intel’s new CEO, Brian Krzanich, is peering ahead and saw a very real possibility of many tablet-notebook hybrids which will run on the Haswell processor. In fact, it is said that Dell’s new XPS 11 (I suppose this would take after the Dell XPS 12) will be powered by Windows 8 as the operating system of choice, arriving with Intel’s Haswell processor underneath the hood of its tablet-notebook form factor.

According to VentureBeat, Krzanich mentioned in Intel’s regular quarterly conference call to financial analysts that approximately 50 notebook-tablet hybrid products are in the pipeline, where these are spread across a range of PC manufacturers. These are the products that will use Intel’s recently unveiled Haswell processor, and we do hope to see some concrete evidence of such devices arrive sooner rather than later. Intel would he pressed to see such a hardware genre make it big in the market, since overall PC shipments remain in a decline across the globe. I don’t see any reason to shun Haswell, since it does come with 50% additional battery life compared to the previous generation of Core processors.
