There are plenty of racing movies in the past and with plenty coming up in the future, such as the next installment of Fast & The Furious, as well as the movie version of Need For Speed. Well it looks like Need For Speed will not be the only racing game getting a movie of its own because word on the street (via The Wrap) is that Sony is looking to make a Gran Turismo movie as well! Apparently Sony is hoping to get the producers behind the 50 Shades of Grey movie to put together a Gran Turismo movie, and this move is supposed attempt at cashing in on the racing movie trend and success of films such as Fast & The Furious.
While we’re not opposed to the idea of a Gran Turismo movie, we have to wonder how Sony will spin the story. After all Need For Speed has a theme to it which is similar to that of Fast & The Furious, so it is a no-brainer to see which direction it could take, but Gran Turismo isn’t exactly storied that way, so it will be interesting to see how it turns out, assuming that it is true. In the meantime take it with a grain of salt, but what do you guys think? Anyone interested in a Gran Turismo movie?
