According to GamesIndustry, Avent was quoted as saying, “I think that, in the next three or four years, one game could make $10 million a day.” As it stands one game in Japan is almost halfway there and it is in the form of Puzzle & Dragons, which reportedly manages to rake in $4 million per day in Japan. We wouldn’t be surprised if this were to come true, after all paid apps for phones were available since feature phones, and it was years later that purchasing apps became the norm for smartphones, so why shouldn’t in-app purchasing become widely accepted as well? What do you guys think? Assuming you are against in-app purchases and would rather pay a one-off fee for a game, do you think you’ll be singing a different tune four years from now?
