Dell XPS 12 Now Comes With Haswell Chip
It looks like Dell, too, wants to jump aboard the Intel Haswell processor bandwagon with their Dell XPS 12 hybrid Ultrabook that runs on Windows 8 as the operating system of choice. You will be able to fork out $1,200 (or above, depending on the hardware configurations) for a Dell XPS 12 that comes with an Intel Core i5-4200U processor, or you can opt for the Core i7-4500U processor with a starting price point of $1,400. These new Haswell-powered models will be faster compared to its previous iteration that ran on Ivy Bridge processors, and according to Dell, that is not the only advantage. Road warriors will be able to appreciate the additional 2.5 hours or so of battery life, at least according to Dell, which would make them hit 8.5 hours of run time.
Having said that, the Dell XPS 12 is one of many hybrid Ultrabooks in the market these days, and the industrial design of the XPS 12 is definitely something to consider if you love to flip screens. Apart from that, Dell will also ensure that the XPS 12 will be accompanied by NFC capabilities, letting you pair it up with supported peripherals through a simple tap.
