Do you realize something? Just about everyone and their dog owned an MP3 player back in the day, and if you were better off financially, you would have been in the possession of a portable media player (PMP) instead. Yes sir, forget about just having music to enjoy, when you can always indulge in full length movies. Well, it seems that Cowon did not get the notice that PMPs and their ilk are phased out in this day and age thanks to the advent of smartphones that could do all that a PMP can, and more, as Cowon has just introduced the Cowon iAUDIO 9+.
The Cowon iAUDIO 9+ will hit Japan this coming July 12th, where it will feature a 2” QVGA (320 x 240 resolution) display that comes mounted on top of a capacitive touchpad, where you can choose from 8GB, 16GB and 32GB capacities. Specifications include a 30mW headphone amp, video connectivity via an optional cable, a microphone and FM radio, all crammed into a device that weighs no more than 40 grams. So far, battery life has been rated at 29 hours for audio playback and seven hours for video content.
