Last week, Microsoft’s Larry Hryb confirmed Assassin’s Creed 2 would be made available for free to Xbox Live Gold members as part of the company’s new Games With Gold program starting this week. As you’d expect, the game is now completely free for Xbox Live Gold members to download, making this the first AAA title to be made available through the Games With Gold program.
There’s no doubt you probably already played through Assassin’s Creed 2 a few times since it’s been available since 2009, but if you happen to be one of those gamers who would like their games to age like fine wine before you play them, then there’s no better time to jump into the game than right now.
In addition to Assassin’s Creed 2 going free for Xbox Live Gold members, Microsoft has also slashed the prices of some additional Assassin’s Creed content until the end of July. If you enjoy AC2 so much you’d like to continue learning more about Ezio’s adventures, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations are available at just $15 each.
Haven’t had enough Assassin’s Creed and thinking about picking up Assassin’s Creed 3? Then you should also know DLC for the game and its season pass are also being discounted. We just hope you get all of your assassinating over in time for the release of Assassin’s Creed 4.
