Apple Hires Former Yves St Laurent CEO For “Special Projects”
Apple’s products in a way have been regarded as fashion icons, at least to a certain extent, but could the Cupertino company be interested in taking it to the next level? While it is purely speculative at this point in time, Apple has hired Paul Deneve who was the former CEO of fashion house, Yves St Laurent. According to Deneve’s new posting, he will be working on “special projects” as a vice president who will be reporting directly to Tim Cook. Some have speculated that Deneve will be filling in John Browett’s role as the executive who will run retail store operation, but that does not appear to be the case. In fact Deneve actually worked for Apple from 1990-1997 as the company’s sales and marketing manager before making his way into the fashion industry. We’re not sure what this “special projects” might entail, but it will definitely be interesting to see what he might bring to the table.
