Analyst Predicts Xbox One And PS4 Shortages At Launch
We’re sure there are many gamers out there who have gone and pre-ordered the Microsoft Xbox One or the Sony PlayStation 4. At the same time we expect there are also many gamers who haven’t, and are probably waiting for reviews or to get their hands on their friend’s machine to try it before they make their decision. Unfortunately for the latter group, if you were planning on getting the console later, you might have a tough time getting your hands on it. According to analyst Colin Sebastian of Robert W. Baird, he predicts that it is very likely that there will be a shortage of consoles available at launch.
Apparently this is due to the “complexity” of coordinating the launches, and also apparently the reason why some retailers are running out of their allocated stock. Of course given that many gamers have been waiting years for a next-gen console and all the hype surrounding it, it is natural that stock could be short. Similar cases have happened in the past such as with the iPhone launch where those who failed to pre-order had to wait a couple of weeks for their order to arrive. Either way we guess we will have to wait for the launch itself to see how big of an impact it will have, but what do you guys think?
