The rough and tumble Sony Xperia Z, a waterproof smartphone (all right, so water resistant would be the more technically correct term) that has impressed a fair number of users in the past months, might be in line for an upgrade underneath the hood, according to the famous Eldar Murtazin who has been pretty accurate with his leaks in the past. His latest claim would include having tested an Xperia Z that sports a Snapdragon 800 chipset, and according to Murtazin, this particularly special Xperia Z is “really fast”.
He followed up that bit of information on the prototype, touting that it was using a display which is the same as that of the HTC One’s Super LCD 3, although he has his reasons to believe that such a display will not eventually make the cut for the commercial model. Sony Mobile has been known to give their smartphones a specifications boost in the past where their flagship models are concerned, with the Xperia arc and Xperia S getting clock speeds increases, although they have never taken the route of throwing in a totally new chipset.
