Sony Xperia Z “Stamina Mode” Ported To Other Xperia Devices
Earlier this year at CES 2013, Sony took the wraps off their latest flagship smartphone, the Sony Xperia Z, and with a lot of emphasis being placed on the longevity of a device’s battery life these days, Sony shared that the Xperia Z would come with what the company was referring to as the “Stamina Mode”. Basically what this feature does is that when enabled, it will only allow some apps to run in the background, thus keeping processing down to a minimum thus saving battery life. The list of allowed apps can be customized, so you can allow apps such as emails and messages to function, while disabling apps like Facebook or Twitter.
Either way if you own an earlier Sony Xperia device and were a bit jealous of this Stamina Mode that Xperia Z users are enjoying, fret not because thanks to the folks at XDA Developers, they have managed to port the feature onto 2012 Xperia handsets. This is thanks to XDA member Aeron sagar and for those who own devices like the Xperia S, SL, Ion, and Acro S, you will be able to get this feature on your phone by heading on over to the XDA forums for the details.
