The new model is called the Xbox 360 E, while its predecessor is known as the Xbox 360 S. Other than a model name change as well as a more desirable look on the outside, what other differences are there between the two? Well, in the long run, Microsoft introduced those changes to save on the cost of manufacturing the machine, where it will include redesigning the back port area for it to be neater than before. Of course, this redesign has its price, too, as the A/V and S/PDIF ports are no longer available, and the number of USB ports are down to just four on the Xbox 360 E. Apart from that, it is said that the Xbox 360 E is as quiet as its predecessor, and perhaps the very same fan that is used before that had something to do with it, no? The similar heatsink configuration is also retained as that was how the RRoD problem in the S was solved, as they say, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
