Pentax K-50, K-500, And Q7 Cameras Introduced

pentax-k-50-and-q7You know what they say, two’s company, three’s a crowd, and here we are with Pentax and their new collection of digital cameras – where a couple of them are DSLRs, while the third is a mirrorless device. The Pentax K-50 is a mid-range shooter, while the Pentax K-500 is an entry level DSLR, where they would both come with an increased sensitivity level of ISO 51,200 and Eye-Fi card support. The Pentax K-50 would retain the K-30’s weather sealing, lithium batteries and extreme color customization, while the budget-friendly Pentax K-500 would be able to run on just AA batteries.

You will be able to find both the K-50 and the K-500 in stores later this July, with the K-500 starting from $600 onwards, where it will be accompanied by an 18-55m kit lens and $780 for a Pentax K-50 with a similar configuration. As for the tiniest shooter of the bunch, the Q7, this mirrorless camera would have a body that captures 12.4-megapixel images, although it would receive a larger 1/1.7” sensor which delivers a huge jump in performance. Expect the Pentax Q7 to retail for $500 in kit form as it arrives in markets later this August. Image courtesy of Engadget. [Press Release]
