Official Facebook App For Windows 8 Confirmed

We are live at the Build developers conference in San Francisco, and Microsoft’s CEO Steve Ballmer took to the stage in his usual manner, having made an announcement that the world’s most popular social network, Facebook, will finally be rolling out an official application to the Windows 8 operating system, although an exact rollout date had yet to be specified, much to the chagrin and frustration of all of us who are there.

While there was no concrete release date for an official Windows 8 Facebook app, the developers who were there cobbled together some applause at this announcement. We are still surprised that Microsoft, being a Facebook shareholder, still has to wait indefinitely before the official Facebook app for Windows 8 is released. Ballmer did drop a quote on Facebook, saying, “Facebook has always believed in connecting everyone, everywhere, on every device.” I suppose I can only comfort myself (and numerous other Facebook fans running on Windows 8 machines out there) that good things come to those who wait, and patience is definitely a virtue worth exercising this time around.
