When will we see Apple’s next-gen iPad? Or the iPad mini for that matter? Rumors have pegged various dates from middle of the year, and towards the later part of the year, but until we hear from Apple officially, it’s pretty much just speculation. That being said, the folks at Digitimes are reporting that Apple is expected to ramp up production of the next-gen iPad come July and would most likely see a release in the third quarter of the year. If this is the case, we wouldn’t be surprised if Apple held the next-gen iPhone and iPad events at the same time.
As for those looking forward to the next-gen iPad mini with the rumored Retina Display, Digitimes claims that production of the tablet is only slated to begin in November, leaving us to wonder when the tablet would be released then. So why not follow the annual cycle, you ask? Some have speculated that due to the iPad mini affecting the sales of the full-sized iPad last year, Apple plans to stagger the release. Others are claiming that Apple’s supply chain is having a hard time meeting the original schedule. Either way take it with a grain of salt for now, but check back with us at a later date for the details.
