The Wi-Fi issues that 2013 MacBook Air models are facing have been well documented. Plaguing both 11 and 13 inch models, the issue causes the machine to repeatedly and unexpected disconnect itself from the Wi-Fi network. At this point in time it is not entirely clear whether the issue can be fixed via a software update or if its due to a faulty component. The latter seems highly unlikely. Apple is testing the ‘MacBook Air WiFi Update 1.0’ and it has reportedly also invited a select few users to install this update and give the company their feedback.
A small group of people have apparently been invited by Apple to join its AppleSeed Program. Those who accept the invitation will then be provided a pre-release version of the aforementioned update. The program has a bug reporting system through which these users can report any bugs that they are able to find. What does this mean for the end user? It means that the company has prepared a software fix, Apple just needs to make sure that it completely takes care of the issue, after which it will release the update to all users.
