Earlier today at WWDC 2013 Apple finally unveiled iOS 7. This update had been rumored for quite some time now and its finally out in the open. The update brings a host of new features and enhancements. Apple calls it the biggest change they’ve made to iOS since it first came out nearly half a decade ago. One such big change is the fact that iOS 7 comes with a completely different user interface. Whenever Apple releases a new update such as iOS 7, some old devices are dropped from the list of compatible devices. It has happened this time around as well.
The image posted above shows devices that will support iOS 7. Not mentioned in this list is the iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 4G, both devices support iOS 6. iPhones older than the 3GS obviously can’t support iOS 7 as well. That’s not all though, even those devices that do support iOS 7 won’t actually get all of its features. Take AirDrop for example, the feature will only be supported by iPhone 5, iPod touch 5G, iPad 4 and iPad mini. Whereas iTunes Radio will be supported by all devices mentioned above. Filters in Photos app are not supported only by the iPad 2, while filters in the Camera app are only supported by iPhone 5 and fifth generation iPod touch.
