We have learned from inside sources that LG was very pleased with their partnership with Qualcomm, especially during the transition from the S4 Pro to the Snapdragon 600, where LG was the first handset maker to hit the market with the Optimus G Pro, a 5.5 smartphone designed to outclass the Galaxy Note 2.
LG has been very aggressive, and quite successful, since it launched the Optimus G: in Korea, it has managed to take a significant market share back from Samsung over the past year. The larger LG Optimus Pro is an even better smartphone and it seems certain that LG will continue aggressively pursue the high-end smartphone market with the next “G” phone. LG will try to gain an edge in terms of specifications, design and schedule.
Since the initial Optimus G launch, LG has invested significantly in software engineering and has released several updates, some which includes a rich set of new features. It’s not clear when the new smartphone would hit, but September looks like a good bet at the moment.
