This past couple of weeks we have seen many pictures of purported iPhone 5S components being posted online. One such picture has come up today, apparently its the logic board of Apple’s next generation iPhone. This picture shows off the board, that is quite similar to its predecessor, without the CPU in place. It is not known as of now what processor Apple has chosen for its new iPhone.
As previously mentioned, the purported iPhone 5S logic board looks similar to that of the iPhone 5, adding fuel to the speculation that iPhone 5S has a design similar to its predecessor. It won’t be shocking, all iPhones that have carried the “S” moniker haven’t come with any substantial design changes. Apart from a different screw placement on top, the logic board is identical to the one inside iPhone 5.
Space for the chip is also identical in size, it can be perceived as a hint that Apple will continue using the 32 nano-meter process it uses for iPhone 5 and fourth generation iPad, for this smartphone as well. The next generation A7 chip is reportedly based on a 28 nano-meter process and manufactured by TSMC, if this logic board is anything to go by, perhaps this chip won’t be debuting with the iPhone 5S, expected to come out this September.
