High-Res Windows 8 Tablets Possibly Hinted By Microsoft
If you’re not satisfied with the display resolution of Windows 8 tablets at the moment, it seems that Microsoft could be interested in upping the resolution in future tablets, such as the next-gen Surface Pro and other Windows 8 tablets of the 7” variety as well. This is according to Tom Warren over at The Verge who thinks that Microsoft could have inadvertently let the cat out of the bag on their plans. It was spotted during one session at Microsoft’s Build conference where during the session, Microsoft showed off some potential screen sizes for Windows 8 tablets, with a possible 10.6” display sporting a resolution of 2560×1440, and a 7” display with a resolution of 1920×1200.
The session was about building apps for Windows 8 tablets and why would Microsoft talk about potential screen sizes if they weren’t planning on doing something about it, right? There’s no telling if these screen resolutions might make it to future Surface tablets, or if it will be made by one of Microsoft’s partners, but either way higher resolutions usually results in sharper displays, so why not? We’ll keep our eyes peeled, but what do you guys make of this? Anyone excited at higher-res Windows 8 tablets in the future?
