Google announced its social media service, Google+, would be receiving some major changes to both its layout and its photos last month. The changes have been generally well received by Google+ users, and today the company is making it easier for Chromebook Pixel owners to treat the service like a backup drive for all of their photos through a dedicated Google+ Photos application.
The Google+ Photos app will automatically upload all of your new photos located on your Chromebook Pixel onto Google+ as soon as you insert an SD card. Once your photos are uploaded onto Google+, you’ll then have the option of whether or not you’d like to make those photos public, which if you’re uploading photos from your camera anyways, we have a feeling making them public might be your next move.
If you own just a regular, ole Chromebook, Google hasn’t forgotten about you as they are currently working on releasing its Google+ Photos app to non-Pixel Chromebooks. For now, we guess the best you can do is just have your smartphone automatically upload photos you take on its camera, which is still pretty convenient.
