A report last year hinted at Facebook’s push to better support Android devices was published late last year, and since then the Android version of Facebook has seen some incredible advancements over iOS and other platforms, although just how popular Facebook Home is is still yet to be seen. Today, Facebook has announced it will now turn to Android owners to help the company better develop its application through a new beta testing program.
The Facebook beta testing program will attempt to help the company identify bugs and get user feedback prior to each monthly release. Facebook will use a Google Group to allow its beta testers to download the beta version of its application from the Play Store, which Google announced at this year’s I/O it would launch a new framework that would support such a feature.
The process of becoming a Facebook beta tester is easy as all you’ll need to do is sign up for the Google Group, then proceed to opt-in to become a tester and then head over to Google Play in order to download Facebook’s beta app. Once you have the beta version of Facebook running on your Android device, just use it how you normally would and report a bug when you run into one to help make the app better. Simple enough, isn’t it?
