EVE Online Players Gain 50K Skill Points Because Of DDoS Downtime
There is nothing quite like a company that takes interest in the lives of its customers, and online gaming sites would definitely want to ensure that their subscribers are well taken care of at all times, where the most basic need would be to ensure that the game servers are always up and running, and when one is logged in, the word “lag” should be something that one pulls out from the annals of history. Well, the unfortunate does happen from time to time, and in order to compensate gamers for a recent outage that lasted for several hours, CCP has stepped forward to announce that they will award EVE Online players with a cool 50,000 skill points.
CCP took note of the weekend downtime, where they have identified to have happened because of a surgical response to a DDoS attack campaign, touting it to be the longest downtime that the MMO has experienced in recent memory, but to see it last for less than a day is still an encouraging note. CCP mentioned, “As a result CCP has decided to give everyone 50,000 unallocated skill points. The cause of the downtime was a malicious attack on our servers but nevertheless we want to make sure that all our players walk away with uninterrupted skill training plans,” and hopefully this will soothe ruffled feathers somewhat.
