Dropbox released a new beta version of its desktop application for both the Mac and Windows that offer a number of small improvements that users will certainly appreciate. The first being support of iPhoto, which obviously is only available to Mac users. Dropbox for Mac users can now import their photos through iPhoto automatically to a folder of their choice in order to allow for quick and easy backup and sharing.
Two other small improvements are also available for both the Mac and Windows beta version of Dropbox’s app. The first being Screenshot to Dropbox, which is a feature that allows you to automatically have Dropbox upload any screenshot taken automatically, as well as having it copied to your clipboard. The second feature, called Move to Dropbox, allows users to right-click any file in order to have a version of said file copied over to your Dropbox.
In addition to these improvements, Dropbox is also claiming its latest beta version will deliver “much faster upload/download speeds for large files.” We have yet to test out if their claim is indeed true, but we’re certainly looking forward to the next time we need to upload a big file through our Dropbox folder.
