Creative Senz3D Camera Lets You Enjoy 3D Gesture Controls
It is always encouraging to see more than one company offer a particular service or device, since it not only eliminates the possibility of a monopoly (or at the very least, reduces it), but it also “forces” the competing companies in an indirect manner to deliver their very level best to the masses so that the consumers will always have a hard time in making a purchase decision. When it comes to the realm of 3D gesture controls, both Leap Motion and Microsoft’s Kinect are pretty familiar names, but as we will all learn at the moment, they are not the only ones out there to churn out such hardware. Computex 2013 played host to Creative rolling out a new camera that was specially designed to deliver 3D control capability to a slew of devices out there, tablets and notebooks included.
Known as the Creative Senz3D, it is tipped to hit the general markets sometime in the third quarter of the year. The Creative Senz3D system would feature a camera/depth sensor which allows one to tack onto an existing device, and Intel might eventually miniaturize the hardware setup further, ensuring that future devices will come with 3D gesture controls built right in, pretty much in the same manner that front-facing webcams have been incorporated into notebooks and desktops these days.
