Bing US Market Share Makes Slow and Steady Climb
Google is still the king of search at this point in time, and it does not seem as though they are going to be dethroned anytime soon. Well, they might want to do their bit and watch their six though, as Microsoft’s Bing search service has started to make progress in the right direction when it comes to claiming additional market share in the US. This bit of information came about from the folks over at ComScore, who happened to offer its latest U.S. search market share numbers earlier in the week. ComScore’s most recent data for May 2013 showed an increase of 0.1% in their search market share compared to April 2013, which touched a total of 17.4%. Of course, Google has increased their lead in the same period of time by 0.2% to 66.7% in the month of May, although Yahoo’s share dropped by 0.1% and now owns a mere 11.9% of the search market.
Apparently, ComScore mentioned that 20 billion Internet searches alone were handled in May, where Google’s website remained at pole position with 13.4 billion searches, and Microsoft’s sites played runner up with 3.5 billion searches. Will Yahoo be able to do something and arrest their decline?
