Bing Updates Their Maps With 270TB Of High Resolution Flyover Images

bingmapsupdateI clearly remember during the early days of the Internet, where my 9600kbps modem had to go through a bunch of beep, boops, and screeching noises before it managed to connect and deliver you to your Hotmail login page. The amount of data that passes through the Internet these days are seemingly mind boggling – and here we are with word from Microsoft that they have added another 270TB of high resolution flyover images to their database, which is a whole lot more compared to the already massive 215TB of satellite images that Bing Maps already added last year.

Needless to say, this 270TB of high resolution images would be the largest installment of Bird’s Eye shots to date, where the better looking views include those of Rome and Milan in Italy, Stavanger in Norway and Kaanapali in Hawaii. Other than the spanking new visuals, Bing is also said to have introduced a bunch of improvements to its Venue Maps that will boast of an expanded points of interest list alongside a new “Report a problem” system, allowing users to let Bing know should a location be incorrectly marked.
