Apple Announces iWork For iCloud, Public Release This Fall

What is clearly a rival for Google Docs, Apple has just announced iWork for iCloud at WWDC 2013. Calling it the newest member of iWork family, users will be able to use Pages, Keynote and Numbers in real-time inside the browser. Editing documents on iWork for iCloud looks quite similar to how it would look on desktop versions of apps in the iWork suite. Users also have the ability to drag and drop Office docs in the browser in order to edit them.

iWork for iCloud supports not only Safari, it will also work on Chrome and Internet Explorer browsers. Though naturally, Apple suggests that for best user experience, iWork for iCloud be accessed through Safari on either Windows or Mac. Developers get access to this new service starting today. Like a handful of other things that were announced today at WWDC 2013, iWork for iCloud will be released to the public in fall as well.
