ZTE Grand S Launch In The US Delayed Till 2014

zte-grand-s-jpgEarlier this year at CES, ZTE announced a new phone from the company called the Grand S. The phone was originally launched in China in Q1 2013, and if you are hoping for a US release, it seems that you might have to wait until 2014. The good news is that if you were a little confused as to why ZTE might release a phone one year later, especially given how competitive the smartphone scene is, don’t worry because ZTE’s head of North America, Lixin Cheng, stated that the phone they plan to release stateside in 2014 will not be the exact same model, but rather one of the Grand S family. We’re not sure what sort of specifications we might be looking at, but presumably they will be an upgrade over this year’s model.

As a quick recap for those wondering about the Grand S, the device sports a 5” Full HD display which puts it in competition with other OEMs such as Sony, Samsung, LG and etc. It will also be powered by a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core chipset with 2GB of RAM, a 13MP camera, a 1.7MP front-facing camera, and will run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. That being said, those are some pretty decent specs for a phone of 2013, so we have to wonder what 2014 will bring.
