YouTube is an extremely popular app, whether you are rocking it on the desktop, or watching and sharing some laughs with your friends over a mobile device. Just about every mobile operating system would carry some kind of YouTube app, and the same applies to Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 platform. We are pleased to bring you word that the official YouTube app for Windows Phone 8 has received a major update earlier this morning, where it was specially redesigned from ground up in order to maximize the features found in Windows Phone 8.
Those who already have YouTube for Windows Phone 8 would do well to play the patience card, as an update notification should be on the way anytime soon. If you have yet to receive such a notification, you can always take the more pro-active approach and grab the update here. Plenty of new features have been thrown into the mix, so we will just list a couple here. For starters, you are now able to pin videos, playlists, channels, and even search queries to Start as Live Tiles in order to speed up access, while there is also a new and innovative playlist design that paves the way for easy access to videos thanks to a touch-friendly filmstrip. Are you excited yet? [Press Release]
