Yahoo Picks Up Astrid, The To-Do App

Some folks swear that life is made a whole lot easier if one were to carry around a to-do list, and I do not deny the possibility that a to-do list would help the unorganized get more organized. Well, the paper-based to-do list has certainly been “ported” over with the smartphone and tablet revolution, where we have seen our fair share of apps to help you stay organized. Astrid is one such app, and old school Internet giant Yahoo has picked them up.

Of course, this acquisition would mean that Astrid will continue to offer support for the task management app over the course of the next 90 days, although it is expected that some users could be on the receiving end of refunds where paid subscriptions are concerned. Yahoo issued a statement on this acquisition, saying, “We’re excited to welcome Astrid to Yahoo!’s mobile team. Their background in personalized mobile experiences is impressive, and we know they will be a huge asset to as we continue to re-imagine our products.” First Summly, then Astrid, what company would Yahoo buy next?
