Windows 8.1 Could Receive Automatic Desktop Scaling
It seems that there has been word spreading around that the next update for Windows 8, that is, Windows 8.1 (naturally), would arrive with automatic desktop scaling thrown into the mix. This bit of information came about after the Reddit AMA session with Microsoft’s Surface team in February, where there was someone who asked about the high resolution display for the tablet, where it had to be scaled to 150% for the desktop user interface, and should one prefer to maintain such a percentage on the Surface Pro, while using also use scaling at 100% on an external display, would something like that be possible? Currently, Windows 8 says “No”, but the Surface team did mention that “the Windows team is aggressively working on this feature to fix this for all high resolution Windows devices. We don’t have a date yet to share, so sorry.”
WinSuperSite has cited that leaked builds of Windows 8.1 which have appeared recently do point towards the possibility of automatic scaling of the desktop display, as well as a slider which will make texts and other items on the desktop larger or smaller according to your preference. Not only that, we also brought you word that Windows 8.1 might also update your applications in the background for a smarter user experience.
