Earlier this month, ABC launched its Watch ABC app onto iOS which allowed its users to watch live television programming from within the application. It looks like the app is making its way to additional operating systems, like Android, but interestingly, it isn’t available on the Google Play store.
The Watch ABC is currently available for Amazon’s Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD tablets as the app is now sitting on the Amazon Appstore, which is certainly good news for the average ABC watcher, but additional Android devices will just have to wait their turn until the application is made available for them. At this time, the only other Android device that is mentioned of receiving their version of the Watch ABC app is Samsung Galaxy, although it’s unknown at this time which device in the Galaxy lineup will be supported.
Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD users who download the Watch ABC app can only access its live stream as long as they’re located in the New York City and Philadelphia areas as all previous restrictions to the iOS version of the app are currently in place for the Kindle version.
