The Wii U Is No Wii Upgrade
If you are an avid gamer, you certainly do not need anyone to walk up to you to tell you the fundamental difference between the Nintendo Wii as well as the Nintendo Wii U, as following press releases, reviews and news would certainly leave you with more than enough information that the Nintendo Wii U is nothing like the older Nintendo Wii. Unfortunately, it seems that this is not the case for most folks out there, as Nintendo president Satoru Iwata mentioned just last week, “Some have the misunderstanding that the Wii U is just Wii with a pad for games. Others even consider Wii U GamePad as a peripheral device connectable to Wii.”
Nintendo then is more than eager to embark on an educational spree to clear up any possible confusion which could affect the sales of Wii U units negatively. After all, the console has failed to create the kind of buzz and phenomenal sales figures that Nintendo were used to in the past, which is why each time you power up an Internet connected Wii U, you will be greeted by a statement that says, “Wii U is the all-new home console from Nintendo. It’s not just an upgrade — it’s an entirely new system that will change the way you and your family experience games and entertainment.” Do you think that this is a necessary “evil” by Nintendo?
