There’s still a lot of confusion surrounding Microsoft’s plans on implementing DRM restrictions to Xbox One used games. The rumors regarding what Microsoft might do have lead many to believe that Sony might take the same path with PS4. Recently we reportedly that many gamers had took to Twitter to urge Sony that it leave used games alone. That campaign has been recognized by a number of Sony executives, but no official clarification regarding DRM on PS4 used games has come up yet.
Head of hardware marketing, John Holler, wrote “This is why I love PlayStation fans – the passion bucket overflows” and SCEA producer Nick Accordino tweeted that “Humbled by the outpouring of passionate PlayStation fans and their willingness to talk to us directly.” He added that “Please know that we hear you.” While its quite clear that gamers’ campaign has gained the attention of Sony, getting them responses from such high level executives, none of them have said anything about the DRM issue. The company itself has not also officially recognized this campaign. Sony will reveal more details about PS4 at its E3 press conference, perhaps it will lay everyone’s fears to rest once and for all. Or will it?
