Samsung To Look Into Freeing Up Galaxy S4 Memory Through “Software Optimization”
Samsung Galaxy S4 owners are probably feeling a little annoyed by the fact that despite having 16GB of onboard storage, after the operating system installation and other add-ons, users are pretty much left with 9.5GB of free space. Granted that users could always purchase a microSD card slot, it still does feel a little bit like a rip off. The good news is that Samsung seems to be taking the complaints rather seriously, although we guess especially since the BBC Watchdog is one of them. A Samsung spokesperson revealed to CNET UK that the company will be reviewing the possibility of freeing up additional memory through further software optimization, which we guess will most likely come as an update. No word on when Samsung will be releasing such a software update to help free up memory for Galaxy S4 owners, could be months, or maybe even a year, but at the very least we’re sure some users of the smartphone are glad that Samsung has at the very least acknowledged it.
