Do you have an hour to kill and would like to win a Samsung Galaxy S4? Well over in Switzerland, Swiss telecom Swisscom has teamed up with Samsung in a contest in which participants will be able to win themselves a Galaxy S4. All they’d have to do is stare at the Galaxy S4’s screen for an hour and that’s all it will take! Of course there is a catch and this event will actually be making use of one of the Galaxy S4’s features – Smart Stay.
For those unfamiliar, Smart Stay basically keeps the display on while the user is reading something on the screen. For regular phones, reading a long document or website will usually result in the display timing out and going dim which can be annoying sometimes. Smart Stay will detect when the user’s eyes are focused on the screen and keep it lit at all times until they look away. That is essentially what the contest is all about and to keep things interesting, Swisscom will throw in distractions to make the user turn away from the phone which would disqualify them.
