Samsung ATIV S Gets Firmware Update, Wi-Fi Tethering Gets The Nod
There is nothing quite like a firmware update to give your smartphone or corresponding device a new lease of life, is there? South Korean consumer electronics giant Samsung has released word that they are working on a new firmware update for their Samsung ATIV S smartphone which so happens to run on the Windows Phone 8 operating system – which is an exception to the rule, as Samsung normally rolls out Android-powered devices instead. This particular firmware update would bump up the existing software version number from 2424.12.12.3 to 2424.13.13.1.
As it stands, the current version that runs on the Samsung ATIV S carries the Portico update, and the main addition to the handset after this update is applied would be the inclusion of Wi-Fi tethering, which so happens to be a particular feature that many of us in this day and age have already taken for granted. This particular update has been scheduled to arrive on the Samsung ATIV S sometime before June, which would mean just a few days left on the clock.
