We have already reported on a previous rumor about a redesigned Gmail app for Android that’s currently in the pipeline. Rumor has it that Gmail is going to be updated across the board, that’s desktop, iOS and Android. The update is said to bring new automatic email categorization feature that’s better than the current “SmartLabels” feature available in Gmail. The new update is rumored to go live on Wednesday, it is being said that the images that have been leaked are from a draft of the post which will go live on the official Gmail blog.
The slide-out navigation drawer in Gmail for Android, which was leaked during I/O 2013, makes an appearance again in these images. As previously rumored, it also touts the top-only action bar. The new labels are displayed in different ways on different platforms. iOS lists them in the sidebar, desktop displays them in tabs and Android shows them in containers inside the inbox itself. It obviously can’t be said for sure that the update will indeed roll out on Wednesday, but we’ll be keeping a close eye on the Gmail blog just in case. [Images via AndroidPolice]
