Panasonic Updates The Rugged Toughbook H2 Tablet
If you’re the type of person who works in an industry where you need a gadget that will be able to survive the harsh conditions, Panasonic has recently updated their Toughbook H2 device. The tablet will continue to run on Windows 7, but will instead feature an Intel Core i5-3427U processor clocked at 2.8GHz, upgraded the storage from 320GB to 500GB, and gave the casing a little upgrade with MIL-STD-810G1, which for those unfamiliar, means that the tablet should be able to survive a drop from heights up to 6 feet. The tablet has also been given IP651 weather-proofing, and has also seen its battery life increased to around 7 hours. The standard unit is priced at $3,349 which is pretty darn expensive as far as tablets or even laptops are concerned, but we guess it’s cheaper than having to continuously replace regular tablets or computers which might not take too kindly to drops or short dunks into water. Customers will also be able to choose a variety of add-ons to the tablet, such as barcode scanners, smart card readers and etc.
