Olympus E-P5 Officially Revealed

Olympus-PEN-E-P5-camera-whiteAfter a series of leaked photos and specifications, Olympus has finally taken the wraps off their latest mirrorless camera system, the Olympus E-P5. The camera as far as its looks are concerned, is pretty spot on when compared to the leaked photos, and as expected, the leaked specifications once again held true for the most part. For those hearing about the E-P5 for the first time, here’s what you can expect from the camera.

The E-P5 will feature a 16.1MP Live MOS sensor with a TruePic VI image processor under the hood. It will come with a 3” tilt touchscreen LCD display with built-in WiFi connectivity for wireless transfers of photos and videos. It will also support Full HD video recording in both MOV and AVI format, a 5-axis image stabilization with IS auto, a fast AF with a touch focus and touch shutter feature, 9FPS burst shooting, 1/8000s max shutter speed, built-in flash and for photographers who prefer not looking into an LCD display while framing their shot, the E-P5 will also come with an optional VF-4 electronic viewfinder.

The Olympus E-P5 will be priced at $999 for the body-only, and if you want it with the kit lens, that package will set you back $1,449, while the VF-4 electronic viewfinder is priced at $279. The camera and its related accessories are currently up for pre-order with an estimated shipping time in June.
