Google’s Next-Gen Nexus 7 Rumored To Go On Sale In July
Rumors of a next-gen Nexus 7 tablet have been floating around for quite a while now, although for Nexus 7 hopefuls, the tablet unfortunately did not make an appearance during Google I/O, although if you were to believe the video released by Google yesterday, a successor to the current-gen is indeed in the works, or at least exists as a prototype. In any case the folks at Digitimes are claiming that according to their sources, Google is indeed working on their next-gen Nexus 7 tablet and could be looking to start selling it beginning in July, with a target of 6-8 million units sold for the second half of 2013.
According to Digitimes, the Nexus 7 will feature a display by Japan Display and could sport a resolution of 1920×1200 and will be powered by a Qualcomm processor, although they were unclear as to which model we might be looking at. They also claim that the tablet will cost the same as its predecessor, which definitely sounds like a huge plus! Take it with a grain of salt for now, but the existence of an upgraded Nexus 7 would not be a stretch of the imagination.
