Gigabyte BRIX Packs Quite A Punch

It is said that one should never judge a book by its cover, and I guess in this modern day and age of computers, neither should one judge a computer’s processing power and capabilities by its size – or in this case, the lack of it. I am referring to the Gigabyte BRIX, where this diminutive computing device measures all of just 4.5″ x 4.2″ x 1.2″, and yet is capable of supporting up to an Intel Core i7 Ivy Bridge processor if you need to call upon some heavy hitting processing firepower.

The Gigabyte BRIX was originally shown off in January earlier this year, and while additional details on it has been released since then, there has been no mention whatsoever on the pricing details to date. For some folks, they might think that the Gigabyte BRIX shares more than a mere passing resemblance compared to Intel’s NUC mini computer design, and it will come with a couple of USB 3.0 ports, HDMI and Mini DisplayPort, Ethernet, and 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity. Other than that, there is also an mSATA slot which spares room for a solid state storage option, and a couple of memory slots so that you can stash away up to 16GB RAM, tops.
