Current HTC One Owners Might Get A Shot At A Stock Android Experience As Well
As you guys might have heard by now, a HTC One with stock Android will be released on the 26th of June which is great news for Android users who don’t particularly fancy OEM’s installing their own skins, and don’t have the technical prowess needed to root and flash a custom ROM onto the phone by themselves. This sounds like a great way to attract potential buyers to the device, although the question here is, what about current HTC One owners who might have highly preferred a stock version of the HTC One rather than the device they currently own?
Well according to the folks at The Verge, HTC could be planning something that would allow current owners of the HTC One to swap to the stock Android experience if they want to. Apparently the company is “examining the best way to support early adopters of the One” although we’re not too sure what that might entail. It has been speculated that perhaps an AOSP ROM might be released, but as it stands HTC has not shared any of the details yet, but we guess that’s still pretty good news for current owners of the device who might be feeling a little cheated.
