AT&T has just confirmed that their customers under the GoPhone banner would now be able to gain access to AT&T’s HSPA+ and LTE 4G data networks. This particular change would mean that owners of such devices, including the iPhone 5 from Apple or other LTE-capable equipment would soon have the capability of browsing the Internet at faster speeds. Faster speeds equals to less waiting time, and it might result in more than just a boost in productivity, don’t you think so?
AT&T mentioned, “Starting today, new AT&T GoPhone customers have the option of connecting to our nation’s largest 4G network if they purchase a 4G or 4G LTE device at full retail price or bring their own 4G or 4G LTE device.” As for existing GoPhone customers who happen to already have HSPA+ or LTE-capable equipment, they will be on the receiving end of an over-the-air update which will enable HSPA+/LTE network access this coming June 12th. In order to qualify, so to speak, GoPhone customers would need to be on the $25, $50, or $65 monthly plan so that one can blaze along at faster data speeds.
