5g.jpg" alt="ipod-touch-5g" width="640" height="528" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-132078" /We all know that Apple is cash rich, and their renaissance in recent years were kick started by superb industrial design, a loyal fan base, and of course, quality products, too. You can have the best marketing machine in the world with lousy products, and chances are you will make quick money just in the beginning before the rest of the world catches on to you. Apple reported today that their iPod touch portable media player has surpassed the 100 million unit mark in terms of sales, making this the first time ever since the iPod touch was introduced to the masses back in 2007.
This particular milestone can be said to have been “celebrated” by the announcement of a new entry level model for just $229, helping make this latest iPod touch model more pocket-friendly, where it will boast of a 4” Retina Display and a dual-core A5 processor, although you might want to take into consideration that this cheaper iPod touch would miss out on a rear-facing iSight camera.
Hmmm, will Apple be able to make it to the next 100 million? Only time will tell.
