Earlier this month, Cablevision announced it would be offering live TV anywhere through its Optimum for iPad application, although the channel selection were extremely limited. It looks like another cable provider will soon be offering the ability to stream live TV while away from your home as Time Warner Cable is expected to launch an update to its TWC TV app.
Just like with Cablevision’s offering, the channel lineup for Time Warner Cable’s live streaming of channels outside of your home network will be extremely limited as only the following channels will be able to be watched live:
- Aspire
- BBC America
- beIn
- Big Ten Network
- FearNet
- Fox News Channel
- Fox business
- GMC
- Pac-12 Network
- TV Guide Network
In addition to the live streaming TV anywhere update, the TWC TV app will also feature video on-demand content from channels like BBC America, BET, Comedy Central, MTV, Nick and Univision to name a few. It’s expected the additional video on-demand content will also be viewable while away from home, which we’re sure many of you will be OK with as long as you can watch your shows whenever and wherever you are.
