When it comes to the screen protectors on our phones, we don’t really give it much thought and any regular screen protector is more than capable of getting the job done. However if you’re a bit fussy and demand the best for your phone, the folks at Xgear have released a screen protector for the Nexus 4 called the Fantom 4. Unlike regular plastic screen protectors, the Fantom 4 is unique in the sense that it is made from glass.
Made from a thin sheet of tempered glass that is apparently both shatter and scratch resistant, it comes with a special coating that helps to keep fingerprints off the display. If anything this sounds a bit like Spigen’s GLAS.t glass screen protector for the iPhone with similar features. Having personally used the GLAS.t, I have to say that it does feel more natural than trying to swipe on a plastic film. Granted it’s more expensive than regular screen protectors, but if you have $34.99 to spare, perhaps the Fantom 4 might be worth checking out.
