Indie developer thatgamecompany, the same develop behind popular indie titles such as Journey and Flower, might have a game up their sleeves that could change the industry, or at least that’s what one of their former team mates claims. Asher Vollmer, formerly of thatgamecompay, has announced in a blog post that he will be leaving the team so that he can go ahead and pursue his own projects, but in the meantime he has had nothing but good things to say about the developer and their upcoming game.
According to Vollmer, he stated that thatgamecompany is currently working on a new game that is “going to be huge”. By “huge”, he did not mean something like Journey where the terrain was vast and open. Instead Vollmer implied that by huge, he meant that it would be important, important enough to change the industry in a popular way. Unfortunately for fans of thatgamecompany, it seems that this new game the developer is working on still has a few years to go, meaning that it will be awhile before we see something come to fruition, but assuming this game is of the same caliber of quality and gameplay like Journey, we have to admit that we are looking forward to it.
