We’re not sure what exactly is going on over at Panasonic as last month, it was being reported the company would not be producing Plasma TVs, which they confirmed yesterday their ZT60 would be their last Plasma television. Today, Panasonic has spoken out against “reports” of their bowing out of the Plasma TV game as they say these reports are “not correct.”
Panasonic’s merchandising VP Henry Hauser released a statement on behalf of the company saying “there is still room for further improvement” with the company indenting to continue its research into ways to take their Plasma technology to “even higher levels.”
During an event in New York City held this week, Panasonic took the opportunity to show guests the latest in their development of their gapless Plasma panel technology in their VIERA ZT Series Plasma HDTVs. Panasonic believes their VIERA Plasma HDTVs will “continue to set the standard for picture quality and black level excellence.” In other words, Panasonic is pretty much saying all previous reports about its leaving the Plasma TV scene are all false and we should all go back to expecting them from the company for the time being.
