A mysterious HTC device has recently been spotted in the Chinese phone database, with the model going by the name of the HTC 606W, although we doubt that will be the final name when it is released. For those thinking that this could be the HTC M4, basically the non-Facebook Home version of the HTC First, this is not the same device as the documents on the database have revealed that the 606W will come with a quad-core SoC, while the HTC M4 will come with a dual-core chipset instead.
The 606W is also expected to feature a 4.5” qHD display, while the M4 will only sport a 4.3” HD display. In any case other specs of the 606W include a 1.2GHz quad-core chipset and 1GB of RAM accompanying it, other than that not much else is known. It is possible that this mid-range phone could be limited to the Chinese market, meaning that for those of us living in the US, we’ll probably never see it. However if it were to make its way stateside, the 606W could prove to be a pretty solid mid-ranged device. Either way we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more info, so stay tuned for updates!
